Rest Stop: Field Trip Venues

We've compiled extensive listings of educational destinations in every U.S. state and the District of Columbia, as well as every Canadian province, and information about a few international opportunities. The lists include links to a wide variety of venues, including art galleries, children's museums, factory tours, farms and orchards, historical museums and sites, national and state parks, nature preserves, science museums, zoos, etc.

The lists - which we compiled based on personal knowledge, our interaction with other home educators, and reference to the Homeschool Buyers Club resource pages - are thorough but not exhaustive. We will add to them as we learn of additional sites.

In addition to the lists we've compiled, we are also pleased to share FactoryToursGuide, "a free U.S. factory tour directory with 1,120+ factory tours organized by state, category, and...interactive map. Families can browse tours by interest area, including food, candy, automotive, agriculture, manufacturing, glass, chocolate, cheese, and more." Because of the extensive work that FactoryToursGuide has already done, we will not add these tours to our state lists; instead, we encourage you to take time to peruse the site along with our lists as you plan outings for your family.
